Vector files vs image files
Image files (JPG, PNG)
are built from pixels, thousands of small coloured squares, like a photograph. Zoom in far enough and you’ll see the individual squares. Enlarge the file beyond its original size and it turns blurry or pixelated, because there aren’t enough pixels to fill the extra space.
Vector files (EPS, Adobe Illustrator)
are built from mathematical shapes and lines, not pixels. Think of it as a set of instructions for drawing the design, rather than a fixed picture. Because it’s redrawn from those instructions every time, a vector file can be scaled to any size, a business card or a billboard, without ever losing quality. When we build vector artwork for you, you receive the native working file, the Illustrator or EPS file itself, not just a flattened copy.

Work beyond the included 2 hours is charged at our standard hourly rate, confirmed upfront once we’ve assessed your concept.
We use professional design and AI software, licensed for commercial use, so the tools behind your finished artwork carry no restrictions of their own.
Where a design needs to be rebuilt by hand, it’s done in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, whichever suits the file, backed by decades of production experience.

Four things worth checking before you commit to an AI-generated concept.

Your licence
Check the terms of the tool you used. Free tiers often exclude commercial use, and some tools don’t give you exclusive rights to the output, meaning someone else could end up with something close to yours.

Whether it already belongs to someone
AI tools don’t check the real world. They can reproduce marks that already belong to another business.
IP Australia’s TM Checker lets you upload a logo and check it, and the Australian Trade Mark Search database goes further.
The ASIC business name register is worth checking too. All are free, and they catch the obvious problems. For anything beyond a basic check, a solicitor specialising in intellectual property is the best way to go.

Who owns it
Australian copyright requires a human author. An image produced from a single prompt, with no further work, may not be protected at all, meaning a competitor could copy it and you’d have little to stand on.
Keep records of your prompts, choices and edits. The more you shape it, the stronger your position.

The file itself
A logo needs vector artwork that stays sharp at any size, plus transparent, single-colour and print-ready colour versions. A flat PNG from an AI tool provides none of that.

FAQ
Can I use my AI-generated logo for printing?
It depends on the file and the print method. A flat PNG works for some applications but isn't suitable for large-format printing, signage or embroidery, which usually require vector artwork.
Can I turn an AI image into a vector file myself?
Technically, yes, with the right tools. You'll need vector software such as Adobe Illustrator, the skill to trace each shape and line accurately, and a working understanding of print or web requirements (resolution, colour modes, file formats), so the finished file actually works for its intended use.
Automated conversion tools can help with simple designs, but they often distort detail or miss it altogether, so most AI-generated concepts still need manual rebuilding. That's the gap our service fills: we test automated tools first, then rebuild by hand in Illustrator or Photoshop where needed, so the result is print-ready or web-ready without you having to learn the software or the process yourself.
Why isn't my AI logo good enough for print?
AI tools generate a fixed image made of pixels. Most print processes, especially large-format or specialty printing, need artwork that can scale without losing quality, which a flat image file can't do.

For vector artwork, yes, you receive the native Illustrator or EPS file, fully usable by you or any future supplier.
For image-based work, you receive Photoshop or high resolution files prepared for your intended use.
Either way, we also supply JPG and/or PNG versions alongside the native files, so you can open, view and share your artwork yourself, without needing Illustrator or Photoshop.
Do I need special software to open my files?
Native Illustrator and Photoshop files need that software to open or edit. You're unlikely to have it yourself, but commercial print and production suppliers do, so you can hand these files straight to them.
